Plants for Refractories

The tasks for plant engineering in the refractory industry are very complex. Being a market leader with decades of experience in supply of plants for the production of all types of refractories, LAEIS knows the special requirements in detail and offers the suitable concept for each tasks. We plan and realize plants for all kinds of refractory products:

  • shaped and unshaped products
  • basic, acidic or neutral products
  • oxide or non-oxide products
  • resin, pitch or ceramically bonded products
  • in practically all dimensions, from chamotte bricks with simple geometry up to complex 2-components sliding gates

All substantial components of such a plant, like HPF high-duty presses, high speed type PM mixers, handling technology as well as dryers and kilns are in-house developments. Our electronics department takes care of the complete system control, process visualization and collection, evaluation and storage of the production data.  If necessary, our service starts already with characterisation of raw materials and development of recipes, with involvement of our optimally equipped R&D center at ALPHA CERAMICS in Aachen. There we can test and demonstrate also the individual process steps from raw material preparation via mixing technology, shaping to drying and firing up to a production scale. Regarding plant components which do not originate from our own portfolio, we co-operate with experienced and proven partners.

We offer plant sections and complete plants up to the new greenfield plant, but also refurbishment or extension of existing plants, whereby our scope of services covers the complete range from plant concept to start-up and training of the operator personnel, independent of the size of the plant.
